The Bradshaws continue to serve Bible translation efforts. Rob serves as both a phonology (language sound system) consultant and grammar consultant, consulting with and helping translation teams in the grammatical, phonological and orthographic (alphabet) analysis of the languages in which they are conducting Scripture translation as well as training and mentoring linguistics consultants-in-training. Good linguistic analysis of the phonology, orthography and grammar of the language facilitates clear, accurate and natural translations. He has also been involved in assisting and training Papua New Guineans in translating the Bible into their own language, and in literacy and Scripture use efforts to enable them to read/use the translated Scriptures and other materials produced in their language, that lives might be changed for the glory of God, Betsy teaches missionary kids at Ukarumpa International School and also serves as the Linguistics Section Coordinator, administrating the work of linguistics consultants, including Rob. She also serves as the Chief Communications Coordinator, editing and revising branch communications including member newsletters and the monthly Papua New Guinea (PNG) Prayerline.

Prayer Request: Pray for good interaction and beneficial input as Rob consults with many different translation teams and mentors consultants-in-training. Pray for Betsy’s planning of Social Studies lessons and teaching fourth and fifth grade students at the international school. Lift the Doromu-Koki people before the Lord that they would continue to read and/or listen to their New Testaments daily (dedicated September 2018), and grow in their faith and walk with him. Also pray that they would be encouraged in their walk through the Jesus Film (dubbed into Doromu-Koki), the Scripture app and an upcoming Scripture Application and Leadership Training (SALT) workshop. Pray that the recently published Doromu-Koki – English dictionary (in print, website, and phone app formats) would be a further means of promoting language use, especially among the large community of speakers now living in the capital, Port Moresby, rather than in the language community home area, 80 kilometres away.
