Serving in the Middle East Region:
Please pray. Although a cease-fire with Iran is in place, tensions in the region remain high. The threat of renewed attacks by Iran and their militia on Kurdistan-Iraq is present in everyone's mind. Christians in Iran face ongoing persecution for their faith. And as Christians, the Islamic regime regards them as a threat, often accusing them of spying for Israel. As a result, they endure harassment, imprisonment, and even murder. Our team continues to care for those fleeing this persecution through the House of Refuge, providing food, blankets, and other essentials. It is important that we care for our brothers and sisters in their time of need. We have been helping them in Iran for many years through sending translations of sound Biblical teaching, earthquake relief and other forms of assistance.
Due to the war, leaders of many foreign-run organizations and churches have left, closing their doors. Kurdish leaders have described this situation as leaving the people “like sheep without a shepherd.” Our team and leaders are Kurdish and remain committed to staying. Their churches are not closing; instead, they are growing in unity, number, and influence.
Because we have assisted the Yazidi people since 2014, as well as many others, we have earned a strong reputation and productive working relationship with local authority. The director, a Sunni Muslim, knowing that forgiveness and reconciliation are core Christian principles, asked us to teach people in their organization about these subjects. We have been praying for this opportunity and believe it could bring lasting, generational change to the region. Please pray for us as we build our team and work out the details. May the Lord grant us wisdom to speak to the hearts of those we meet, so we can help bring the freedom of forgiveness, reconciliation, and protection to all of Kurdistan-Iraq.

One of our ministries favorite assistant directors is moving from Juvenile Hall to work at the Youth Guidance Center and the Youth Leadership Academy. She will also be helping train the new director over those two facilities. I am so thankful for not experiencing any fatigue after returning from the CMCA Conference last weekend. I had more water damage in my condo from my water filter system under my kitchen sink (before I had it removed). I am not sure if the dehumidifier I rented took care of the problem because I had it running when I was out of town and it turned off unexpectedly. Because of that, the person scheduled to reinstall my flooring from the last leak, couldn’t complete the work and now he is not returning my calls. Pray for this person to be able to find the time to help me out. I am putting together my message for my upcoming trip to CC Durango and will be teaching from Galatians 5. Dimitri and I met for lunch and he is hoping to get off probation on June 16th. He is going to church with his mentor and enjoying the sermons. Pray for the hatred in his heart to be replaced with empathy, etc. Pray the all of the Protestant/Christian youth in the Youth Leadership Academy to be interested in attending our church services and bible studies.

Prayer:
- For those who have recently been baptized; that they would grow deep in God's Word and be bold to live as witnesses for Him. Kurt Kula is planning to begin a new believers' Bible study over the summer, so pray that this will be a time of great fellowship and deeper understanding of God and His work in the believer's life.
- For the Bible college students who just recently finished their semester and are now traveling all over the world. Some are experiencing 40-day mission trips with churches in other countries, others are preparing for their return here in the fall, and still others are moving forward into new journeys of life. What a great semester it was, especially with those who were able to be with us for multiple semesters and years.
- For our trip tomorrow, the upcoming wedding, preparations for Rachel's stay there, our time with family, friends, and travels there.
- The church as we leave. David and Deborah Markey and their family will also be gone this summer, so special prayer for Kurt and Kendall Kula as they take on many new responsibilities here. Although in the past we have had fewer people coming in the summer, both services now continue to be very full. May it be a time of great fellowship and people serving one another.
- For wisdom regarding the office here. We have continued to rent it as a place for outreaches such as our English classes, Bible studies, a new Iranian church that is getting started, and many other things. However, we know that where God guides, He provides, and we are not sure if we will be able to continue renting it. So, we are praying for confirmation as we need to make a decision by July.
Thank you again for your prayers, encouragement, and partnership with us in the gospel. We are overjoyed at the faithfulness of God that is being shown through you!

Please pray for Arise May 27-31, the ladies’ outdoor outreach weekend - We (a group of thirty some organizers and volunteers) will take well over a hundred participants into the wilderness for three days desiring for them to have a special personal encounter with Jesus.
Please pray with us for the participants, that their hearts would get prepared, and that the Lord would do a very deep work in each of their hearts. About half of them have no church background at all, so may the Lord meet them personally and save them and may they not give up halfway.
Please pray for the serving team: for unity and love for each other and the participants, strength and endurance for our tasks, and that the Lord would work in our lives as well. May we work together well with the locals who help us and may we be a light to them.
Please pray for protection for all of us so that we would stay healthy and safe from injuries, wild animals and ticks, and remain focused and steadfast. May the weather be like what serves the Lord’s plans this time the best…Thank you very much for your prayers for us!

There is an Ebola outbreak in certain parts of Africa near Congo & Uganda. Please join me in praying for the people in DRC (Congo), South Sudan and Uganda, also Rwanda. Especially pray for the missionaries and believers there.
From Franklin Graham: I would like to ask everyone to pray for Dr. Peter Stafford, the missionary physician who has been evacuated from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) after testing positive for the Ebola virus. Please also pray for his wife, Dr. Rebekah Stafford, and their four children. The Staffords now serve with Serge, but were part of our Samaritan’s Purse Post-Residency Program several years ago. I spoke with Rebekah by phone today and told her we would be praying for Peter and their family.

PRAISES:
Praise the Lord: My aunt Joani's celebration of life service in Washington state was exactly what it said on the tin - a celebration of a life lived fully for the Lord with good fruit following it.
Praise the Lord: Rick received closure on the loss of his aunt. At the end of the celebration, a song was played with the chorus a repeated "Amen," It hit me that Joani has reached the "amen" of her life and I won't see her again until we join up in heaven.
Praise the Lord: The travels to and from Seattle went well with smooth connections
Praise the Lord: We heard good reports from the church about Pastor Mike Howard's message last Sunday and of the presentation of their "Hope Now" ministry in Harrogate at Thrive.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Please pray for Cindy as after coming home from travelling to Washington State she has been hit pretty hard with vertigo again.
- We have heard about Ryan. I received an email from the head chaplain in Maghaberry prison over the weekend that he is requesting me to come for a clergy visit. This is the 1st time in at least 3 months that we have heard anything about him. Please pray: 1.) that I can see hin this week (as next week we are going to the annual conference in York) and 2.) that he will completely surrender to the Lord and receive relief from the stranglehold of drugs.
- Please also continue praying for Connor that the stronghold of drugs would be broken from his life too. No one has heard anything from him for the last 3 weeks. Also our friend Lee needs our prayers as he too has fallen off the radar and we suspect that our brother is using drugs again. We need to declare war against the devil who is tempting so many to fall away from the Lord.
- Your continued prayers for our dear Heather & Jenny are appreciated. There was a little breakthrough for Heather the other week, but nothing since. Pray they they both return to Jesus, their first Love and to fellowship.
- We need to keep praying for our friend who is struggling with ongoing health issues as the new medication she's been given will help resolve the issues she's having. We are grateful for the proactiveness of the doctor. We still pray for a miraculous healing, and pray for continued peace for the family.
Thank you for praying for the upcoming meetings this week:
Tuesday - Church prayer gathering
Saturday - Steadfast Men's Prayer Breakfast
Sunday - We will begin a new series through The Book of Revelation - "What on Earth is Happening?"
ONGOING PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Pray for Kristen as she continues seeking the Lord's will for her in coming to Northern Ireland to work with HCF Ireland and see if it would be a good fit for her.
- Also some dear friends of ours in California have stopped attending church. Pray that their hearts will respond to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. For us, it is a bit worrying being so far away and not understanding what has led up to this. Thank you for your prayers for them.
- Please continue your prayers for Ryan, he has once again disappeared and hasn't been in contact. Pray that he too returns to fellowship and stays sober.
- Pray for the drugs issue in Ballymena. News reports have also said that criminals are exploiting the Republic of Ireland's weakness and flooding cocaine into the UK through them and Northern Ireland. Let's pray for this pipeline to collapse and for the freely available amount of cocaine in all its forms to decline in Ballymena.
- Please keep praying for the tinnitus in Rick's ears as there has not been much relief.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers for us,
Rick & Cindy Johnston

J & NJ
Serving in restricted country in Asia:
Today marks the 33rd year that J and N J have been serving the Lord in ministry. All glory be to God alone!
Regarding J's bladder tumor, yes, it was stage 1 cancer and was superficial and slow growing. The doc said he was able to get it all out in the surgery last month. For the future this will only require monitoring. Today J goes in for a prostate biopsy. We are trusting the LORD for continued grace with J's health. We sense the incidental discovery of the bladder tumor through an MRI was a work of God - preserving J's life for continued service in ministry. Thank you for your prayer! For the next few weeks, some on our team will be working to update our NTB app with the 3 Audio Bibles. J will continue checking the Sobod (a pseudonym) book of Job. Thank you for standing with us in Bible translation for the Sobod and T*b*tan people.

Thank you so very much for your prayers. I wish you could see them move mountains, heal souls and bring revelation to the hearts of many.
God is moving and there is always more positive going on than negative, Hallelujah!!!
The transfer after five years of teaching for Pastor Will at CCBarcelona has gone tremendously well. Pastor Will has been moving write along through the letter of revelation blessing us all.
This last weekend I was also very blessed to have been able to spend time with a strong brother in faith, in the Southern state of Kärnten.
I also enjoyed the privilege of the Lord to be able to teach His Word at CC Klagenfurt last Sunday.
It was a jaw dropping experience filled with heartfelt sorrow, to say the least. It was so good to reunited with some of the beloved there. But it was a time shared filled with tears.
Keep them all in your prayers. They are going through a challenging season.
